Transparency & YMYL Compliance

Sources & Methodology

Every factual claim on JustBuyXEQT.ca is grounded in a primary source. This page documents where our data comes from, how we verify it, and how frequently it is updated. Financial content that affects real decisions deserves this level of transparency.

Price Data Methodology
XEQT Live Price Feed

The live XEQT price displayed on the homepage, XEQT Data page, and Market Pulse page is retrieved via the Yahoo Finance public data endpoint (query1.finance.yahoo.com/v8/finance/chart/XEQT.TO) on each page load, cached server-side for 30 minutes, and refreshed on a cron schedule. The feed returns the most recent traded price, daily change, 52-week high, and 52-week low. Data is indicative and may be delayed by up to 15 minutes during market hours.

When the live feed is unavailable, the site displays the most recently cached price clearly labelled as potentially stale. The 52-week high used in the Market Pulse drawdown calculation is sourced from the same feed.

XEQT MER — Current Position

BlackRock Canada reduced the XEQT management fee from 0.18% to 0.17% effective December 18, 2025. The all-in Management Expense Ratio (MER), which includes the management fee plus operating expenses across the underlying funds, remains approximately 0.20% based on the most recently reported fiscal year figure. The site uses 0.20% as the cited MER with a note that the management fee has been reduced. As BlackRock's next fiscal year reporting reflects the lower management fee, the all-in MER is expected to settle around 0.19%. We will update all references when the new fiscal year MER is formally published by iShares.

Historical Return Figures

XEQT historical return figures cited on this site — including the 12.98% annualised return since inception — are sourced from StockAnalysis.com and PortfoliosLab, which calculate total returns inclusive of distributions with dividends reinvested. These figures are updated periodically and should be verified against the most current data before use in investment decisions.

Update & Correction Policy
Articles reviewed at least annually or when source data changes
When articles are updated

Tax-related articles are reviewed at the start of each calendar year when the CRA publishes updated contribution limits, RRIF withdrawal rate tables, and benefit thresholds. Fund data articles are updated when BlackRock, Vanguard, or BMO publish updated MER or product documentation. The Market Pulse page updates automatically via the live price feed without editorial intervention.

When a factual error is identified, it is corrected within 24 hours of discovery. The article's "Updated" date is changed to reflect the correction. Significant corrections are noted inline with a brief explanation of what changed and why. We do not silently change figures without updating the date.
